Welcome to

 PaybyPaper © ®
Where ebay users are free to be themselves again©

PaybyPaper.com
is the website that makes ebay better.

PaybyPaper works with your browser, so you can highlight an ebay seller i.d. on the ebay website, click your mouse, and instantly see if that seller accepts money orders or checks; if she has a website or other external links; if she sells legal items that are not allowed on ebay. And wouldn't free ads from a trusted ebay seller, be a great way to find more bargains? Sellers can leave new negative feedback for problem buyers. In other words, you can see all those things you've been missing out on since ebay first began restricting seller content.

For all this and more, just click this button to install the PaybyPaper Internet Explorer-8 Accelerator (like a smart bookmark) into your IE-8 browser.

This new IE-8 feature works like a charm and is very simple to use: just  highlight the ebay member's i.d., click the Accelerator Icon that appears next to the highlighted text, then select the PaybyPaper link from the menu. The PaybyPaper page for that particular ebay i.d. will instantly open.

Do you use Firefox, Navigator or other Navigator based browser?

Just drag and drop the following bookmark onto your firefox bookmarks toolbar,
or right click the link, and select "Bookmark this Link" to install it into your Bookmarks menu list.

Pay by Paper

Once this is installed, using it is simple: Highlight an eBay User i.d., then select "Pay by Paper" from your bookmarks.
The page for that eBay User i.d. will instantly appear.

Why do we need a PaybyPaper © ® website?

ebaywill soon be prohibiting the solicitation of payment by check or money in ebay listings on most of their U.S. websites. Beginning in October, paper payment options will be removed from item listing forms. At some point, certainly no later than January 2009, the ban against mentioning paper in listings will be fully enforced. Most ebay sellers will have to use Paypal for all their transactions, and. of course, pay the additional fees.

But ...happily enough, ebay's new policy does permit Sellers to continue to accept paper payments, but only if the buyer asks them to.

I anticipate we will soon see packs of Paper-Paying Dead-enders who will refuse to leave the ebay website, roaming the back-alleys of ebay, searching for sellers who still accept paper. They will have to email every seller of every listing they are interested in, and solicit permission to pay with paper before they can bi.d..

That's not a pretty picture.

Ebay has been steadily tightening its control over  many aspects of how ebay sellers can conduct their businesses. Naturally, ebay is seeking to increase their own corporate profit, which is understandable, and to change its brand, which is its right to do. But many sellers are finding the ever more controlling regime too intrusive, with alerts from ebay warning buyers and sellers to report each other for avoiding ebay fees, and ebay monitoring and punishing sellers for charging shipping fees that are already below the seller's cost.

THE SOLUTION?

PaybyPaper© ®
It Make Ebay Better

Ebay users can just highlight an Ebay seller's i.d. from an Ebay webpage, and click the bookmark or accelerator. If that i.d. already has a wiki page on PaybyPaper, the user will see it instantly.

If that i.d. is not already listed in PaybyPaper, you will be invited to create a new page for that i.d.

If you know that the seller takes money orders or checks, then please add that information to the new page for that ebay i.d. You can continue searching for, or adding new i.d.'s, by simply entering the i.d.'s into the wiki* search box - or directly from the ebay website using the "smart bookmarks" described above.

Ebay sellers can also offer items for sale on PaybyPaper.com; they can freely state their payment policies without fear of retribution from ebay; they can link to independent websites, including their own merchant sites. So, with only 2 clicks, a buyer could go from a seller's ebay listing to a seller's website or mall store.  Buyers can leave Comments longer than 80 characters. Sellers can leave uncensored feedback about buyers. And, you can buy and sell on this website, even create your own merchandise categories, and post items for sale under as many categories as you like.

Check it out. Play with it. If you know of ebay sellers who accept paper payments, add their i.d.'s by creating a new page for them. Or, create your own page for yourself, with links and advertising. This is the website where ebay users can have fun and be themselves again. Hopefully, by January when the ban against paper payments is fully enforced on ebay, we'll have many, if not most of the ebay sellers who accept checks or money orders already listed here.

AND IT'S ALL FREE!

Just one more thing - for your safety, be absolutely certain to email an ebay seller through ebay to verify their information before you bid on their ebay listing, or before you make a purchase from an offer you find on PaybyPaper.

For your safety, follow the guidelines offered by Craigslist - click on the links below. This is even more important if you buy from someone who does not have an ebay id and ebay feedback.
